Toronto Community Housing Corporation

PROJECT

DPRA assisted the Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) to design, implement and analyze a comprehensive healthy workplace and employee satisfaction survey of all 1,200 employees including staff that belong to three separate unions.  The project was the first phase of an on-going initiative to track employee satisfaction and health.

TASKS + OBJECTIVES

The work has included a detailed review of other jurisdictions to identify common healthy workplace indicators.  This information was used in a workshop with the project steering committee to identify relevant healthy workplace indicators and employee satisfaction questions that are relevant to the Corporation and to be included in the employee survey. The methodology included a communications plan (and materials), a written survey to protect confidentiality and available in various languages in an effort to improve response rate with staff whose first language is not English.

SMART SOLUTIONS

A detailed employee satisfaction report provided strategic advice to the Corporation on development and training needs aimed at improving employee satisfaction and the health of the workplace.
