Catherine Willinsky is a Senior Associate at DPRA. Catherine has over 20 years of expertise in applied health and social research, project implementation, management and evaluation. She also has extensive experience in stakeholder relations and community engagement and has worked for a number of health organizations such as Public Health Ontario, the Hospital for Sick Children, the Schizophrenia Society of Canada, the Psychology Foundation of Canada, and the Canadian Mental Health Association. Catherine has a Masters of Health Science from the University of Toronto and Bachelor of Arts from McGill University.


Catherine’s work has focused on promoting mental health across the lifespan and within specific populations such as children and youth and people with lived experience of mental health and substance use problems. She has worked extensively in the areas of harm reduction and concurrent disorders, and has demonstrated expertise in managing projects related to Cannabis use and related public health concerns. All her work in this area is based on a recovery-oriented framework, with an emphasis on producing evidence-based, relevant and accessible information for a range of audiences and settings, to promote awareness and informed decision making.


She participates on project teams working in DPRA’s various service areas, including Applied Health and Social Research, Indigenous and Public Consultation and Engagement, providing project leadership, management, research, writing and facilitation support.
