Ron Mucklestone is a Senior Associate with DPRA Canada. After graduating with a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University, Ron worked for businesses, government and NGOs in Canada and abroad prior to joining DPRA.

 

Ron has strong expertise in socio-economic impact assessment, program evaluation, Indigenous and stakeholder consultation, and project management. His focus is Canada’s North and the unique socio-economic, regulatory and environmental challenges faced with resource development and social services initiatives. Most of his recent work has been associated with mining, natural gas, and the management of used nuclear fuel projects.

 

Ron has particularly strong expertise in regulatory reviews and process mapping. For example, he led the DPRA team that mapped over 70 regulatory processes for 17 agencies) for the Mackenzie Gas Project, and producing 30 regulatory process maps for a newly established renewable energy office. Recently he managed the production of a Petroleum Regulatory Guide and a Minerals Regulatory Guide for a territorial department.
