Ms. Christel von Engelbrechten is a Senior Associate at DPRA Canada and has over 20 years of experience in public consultation, facilitation, survey research, data management, socio-economic impact assessment, and training. She has a Master’s Degree from the Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University. The focus of her work has been the design of strategic consultation and communication programs, facilitation and facilitator training, small group facilitation processes and socio-economic impact assessment.
Ms. von Engelbrechten is a skilled facilitator, often working on environmental projects that have the potential for considerable controversy. She works towards improving communications, developing and maintaining meaningful dialogue among the parties, integrating competing interests, and attempting to achieve consensus. In addition, Ms. von Engelbrechten has extensive research, organizational, data management and analytical skills.
Her past and present clients include Natural Resources Canada, the Nunavut Planning Commission, the Towns of Aurora and Richmond Hill, Nuclear Waste Management Organization, the City of Pickering, Justice Canada, the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment, the Ontario Métis Association, Waste Management of Canada Corporation, the Canadian Standards Association, Ontario Power Generation, the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall, the Board of Management of the Smithville Phase IV Bedrock Remediation Program, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, and the Government of the Northwest Territories.
