Nancy Gonzales

Ms. Nancy Gonzales is a Senior Associate at DPRA and has over 15 years experience in project management, system development, system design and technical team management.  This includes responsibility for client interaction, business analysis, technical analysis and design, maintaining knowledge of emerging technologies, programming standards, quality assurance and serving as a project manager for various projects.  Over the past few years her focus has been in the area of Information Technology focusing on the integration of business processes into web applications for federal and territorial agencies in the Northwest Territories.  During Nancy’s fifteen years of service she has either being the project manager or technical lead on over 30 web applications.

During the past two years, Nancy has worked extensively for DPRA on projects for Canadian companies and Canadian Governmental Agencies.  One of her most recent projects included being the project manager and DBA for the Office of Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth Public Inquest system.  Nancy designed and developed the MySQL database that stores all system data.

Nancy is also the project manager for the Northwest Territories Geoscience Office (NTGO) GoMap and Gateway applications.  GoMap is the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) online mapping tool to discover, search, display, and download information from their large collection of GIS (Geographic Information System) data and geoscience-related publications.  It is an interactive web-based portal for geology that can be used to query subsets of data as determined by the user and to visualize the results.  Gateway is the online NTGO application used to search, download, and order scanned and digital versions of our publications.  Information available includes NTGO publications, mineral exploration reports, petroleum industry reports, assessment reports, historical reports, geological and geophysical reports, and miscellaneous reports.  Gateway provides a shopping cart for saving individual or selected reports (or files within reports).

Nancy was also the project manager for Wek’èezhìi Land and Water Board online application system, DIAND Risk Assessment Application and the NGPS Regulatory Information Management System.  Nancy was the technical lead for the Renewable Energy Facilitation Office (REFO) Call Tracking database and the lead developer of Deeley CSI Real-Time Tracking system.

Nancy’s technical experience includes: working with a variety of development platforms and programming languages including MySQL, Subversion, Visual Basic, MS Access, Java, .NET, JavaScript, html, xml, Lotus Notes R7, Oracle iAS Forms, Oracle 10g, and SQL Server 2005. She has worked extensively within all aspects of the development life cycle including project management, requirements analysis, database design, database programming, program development, testing, deployment, and documentation.

Nancy’s academic background includes a Masters of Science in Computer Information Systems from Regis University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science & Mathematics from the Colorado School of Mines.
