Senior Associate - Public Sector Consulting Team

JOB SUMMARY 

Currently, DPRA is seeking a Senior Associate for our growing Public Policy consulting team. This position requires an individual who can effectively respond to client needs on regulatory enforcement and compliance, legislative and policy support, performance management and metrics, strategic planning and development and program development in the public sector.

 

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS 

The Senior Associate will:

• Review and help develop effective regulatory enforcement strategies

• Analyze and clarify compliance burdens and responsibilities

• Provide legislative support by undertaking community consultations on proposed legislation

• Prepare drafting instructions, Cabinet submissions and/or legislative proposals

• Conduct policy research and provide strategic advice with respect to evolving policy proposals

• Review and assess governance arrangements and programs including assisting with organizational setup, internal planning and control systems and determination of required corrective action

• Support clients in developing performance metrics, processes and accountability tools and systems

• Provide in-depth analysis and expert facilitation to clients by taking long- and short-term policy objectives and translating them into operational goals

• Assist public sector clients with the development of new programs and services and/or operational protocol and processes

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Successful candidates will have a combination of:

• Master’s Degree in relevant subject area

• Ten (10) plus years of experience in the senior public-sector;

• Demonstrated knowledge of performance management theories, principles, models and related systems/technologies

• Demonstrated experience in program development and design

• Demonstrated experience in managing regulatory enforcement programs

• Considerable experience managing concurrent projects utilizing organizational, planning and project management skills

• Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with team members and external consultants

• Key to working in a consulting practice is being flexible and able to work on a variety of projects and across a variety of disciplines. Candidates with diverse backgrounds and/or an interest in working and learning about other practice areas will do well at DPRA.

Associate - Public Policy Consulting Team

JOB SUMMARY 

Currently, DPRA is seeking an Associate for our growing Public Policy consulting team. This position requires an individual who can effectively respond to client needs on regulatory enforcement and compliance, legislative and policy support, performance management and metrics, strategic planning and development and program development in the public sector.

• Summarize findings in writing and in data visualizations that are clear and relevant

• Contribute to development of reports and other deliverables

• Assist with project scheduling and coordination tasks

• Contribute to proposal development

• Travel on occasion to support senior staff in their work alongside clients

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Successful candidates will have a combination of:

• Master’s Degree

• A minimum of -5 years of experience in a public-sector role

• Demonstrated ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research and analysis

• Attention to Detail – Diligently attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks

• Analysis/Reasoning – Examines data to grasp issues, draw conclusion, and solve problems

• Self-Management – Manages own time, priorities and resources to achieve goals

• Teamwork – Promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables

• Initiative – action-oriented, ability to think and plan ahead, anticipate and prepare for challenges

• Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate in writing and verbally

• Strong computer literacy skills, including high proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications
