Melissa Heppner is a Research Analyst at DPRA Canada. Melissa holds an M.A. in Human Geography from the University of Toronto and an HBSc in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, and Geography from the University of Toronto Mississauga. Her education focused on the ecological, social, cultural, and political dimensions of environmental stewardship.

 

Prior to joining DPRA Canada, Melissa contributed to several research projects at the University of Toronto, including rewilding Bison as a pathway to reconciliation with Plains Indigenous bands, best practices in urban forest management, undergraduate recruitment strategies, and the role of faith in environmental stewardship. She has experience creating interview guides and surveys, conducting in-depth interviews, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data. With a background in arts and sciences, Melissa excels at synthesizing multidisciplinary information into actionable recommendations.
